Pilgrimage
Journey to Nalkheda
A visit to the Sarva Siddha Peeth is simple to arrange once the route, the timing and the ritual are settled in advance. Below is honest, practical information about getting there, staying nearby and taking part in a ritual while you are at the temple.
Why Devotees Travel Here
A Siddhpeeth, not a modern shrine
Nalkheda's Maa Baglamukhi temple is counted among the principal Baglamukhi shrines of India, with a self-manifested idol on the bank of the Lakhundar river and a tradition of anushthan that draws devotees from across the country.
Rituals performed in your presence
Devotees who travel take their own Sankalp at the temple and sit through the havan or puja themselves. This is arranged in advance so that the timing and duration are clear before you book travel.
A quiet, small-town pilgrimage
Nalkheda is a small town in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Facilities are simple rather than luxurious; devotees usually stay in Agar, Shajapur, Ujjain or Indore if they want more comfortable accommodation.
Getting There and Staying Nearby
By air
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore (IDR), is the most convenient airport, roughly 160 km away and about four hours by road. Bhopal airport is a further alternative.
By rail
Shajapur and Berchha are the nearest small railheads; Ujjain and Indore are the major junctions with good connections from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, followed by a road journey.
By road
Nalkheda is connected by state bus and taxi from Agar Malwa, Shajapur, Ujjain and Indore. Most devotees hire a taxi from Indore or Ujjain for a same-day return.
Where to stay
Basic dharamshala and lodge accommodation is available in and around Nalkheda. Hotels of a higher standard are in Ujjain and Indore. Stay is arranged by devotees themselves; suggestions can be discussed on a call.
Hotel bookings, airport transfers and VIP entry are not offered by the temple. Guidance on routes and local options is available on request, and details can be discussed during your consultation.

Pilgrimage Questions
- How long should I plan for a visit?
- A darshan visit can be completed in a day from Indore or Ujjain. A havan or puja usually needs half a day at the temple, and a multi-day anushthan requires you to stay nearby for its duration.
- Should I inform the temple before coming?
- Yes, if you want a ritual performed. Darshan needs no notice, but a havan, puja or anushthan must be scheduled so that the samagri and timing are arranged.
- Do you book hotels, taxis or airport pickup?
- These are not operated by the temple. Guidance on routes, timings and where devotees usually stay is available on request, and arrangements can be discussed during your consultation.
- Can families with elderly members or children visit?
- Yes. Let us know in advance so the ritual timing can be kept convenient and the sitting arrangement discussed.
- Is there a best time of year to visit?
- Navratri, Baglamukhi Jayanti, Amavasya and Purnima draw the largest gatherings. Devotees who prefer a quiet darshan often choose ordinary weekdays.
